At Rasdhara, our campaigns and events are more than just activities — they are steps towards a more aware, inclusive and compassionate society. Through street plays, community drives, workshops and public events, we bring people together, spark conversations and turn ideas into action.
Each campaign and event is a chance to learn, participate and create real change — because social awareness grows stronger when we experience it together.
From 6 to 10 October 2026, Rasdhara Theatre Society ran a Cloth Donation Drive to support families in local communities and to encourage the responsible use of donated clothes. With the help of donors and well-wishers, we collected a total of 134 kg of clothes. Collecting was only the first step. Every piece was carefully sorted and checked for quality, and only clothes that were clean, wearable and in good condition were kept for distribution. Torn items, stained clothes and those with broken or missing zippers were set aside, so that the families receiving them would get clothes they could wear straight away, without needing any repairs.
On 11 October 2026, Rasdhara distributed 81 kg of wearable clothes among more than 100 households in two communities. In Mayur Vihar Phase 1, clothes reached more than 50 households in a settlement near the metro station. In Yamuna Khadar, near Chilla Village, we reached around 50 to 60 households. The response from the community was warm, and many families were glad to receive clothes that suited their everyday needs. The drive showed that careful sorting and thoughtful distribution can make a donation more meaningful and dignified for the people receiving it.
The remaining 53 kg of clothes, which were stained, torn or otherwise unfit for direct use, were handed over to the Delhi Government’s Arpan Kendra. We kept them apart from the wearable clothes so that beneficiaries received only good-quality items, and so that these textiles could be reused, upcycled or recycled wherever possible. In all, the drive collected 134 kg, distributed 81 kg and passed on 53 kg for responsible reuse. Rasdhara sincerely thanks every donor and supporter whose contribution made this possible.
On 22 December 2024, Rasdhara Theatre Society held its Opening Ceremony, the day we introduced ourselves to the world as a non-profit theatre organisation. We invited our members and the people who already knew and supported us, because we wanted the first step of this journey to be taken together with them. The ceremony was our way of answering a simple question: what is Rasdhara, and what do we stand for? It marked the moment when a group of people who loved theatre became a proper organisation, with a name, a purpose and a direction.
The event was a mix of performance, conversation and celebration. Members and guests took the stage to perform and to show their art, so the evening gave people a real feeling of the talent and energy within the Rasdhara family. Speeches were given on what Rasdhara actually is, how many members we have, how the organisation works and what it stands for as a non-profit. The speakers also shared our goals for the coming days, so everyone present knew where we are headed. It was a warm and memorable evening, and it laid the foundation for everything Rasdhara has done since.
Rasdhara Theatre Society brings theatre, storytelling and performing arts beyond the stage to educate, create awareness and inspire social transformation.
